“Bhostadh”

The Bostadh work was definitely an idea which came to me after visiting The Bostadh Village in Lewis many times in The Outer Hebridean Islands of Scotland.

I imagined the simplicity of materials available in the Iron Age, and what was most used and important for the lifestyle. So I came up with serving platters for bread, porridge bowls and little vessels for dried herbs or berries.

This is a basic portfolio of what can be an array of different serving items and can be personalised by shape or size to suit the user. I like the rustic feel these stone items give. Unglazed they are earthy and very photogenic with food.
